What to put on your page when you are temporarily closed

Put the closure at the very top, say when you are back, and leave one way to contact you. One edit stops a week of the same question.
The three things to say
- That you are closed, in plain words
- When you reopen, with a date rather than "soon"
- What someone can still do, such as order for later or message you
Put it above everything else
A notice below your menu will not be read. It goes first, before the buttons, so it is the first thing on the screen.
Keep orders open if you can
If you can still take bookings or orders for after you reopen, say so clearly. A closure notice that ends there loses business a closure notice with a next step keeps.
Do not delete your links
Leave your hours, location and contact in place. People still look those up while you are closed, and a stripped page looks abandoned rather than closed.
Set a reminder to change it back
The most common mistake is reopening and leaving the notice up for another fortnight. Put a reminder in your phone for the morning you reopen.
