How many links should you put on one page?

Three to six links is right for almost every business. Past that, each new one makes the important ones harder to see, and the page starts to feel like a menu of everything rather than an answer.
Start with what people ask for
Look at your messages. Whatever people ask for most is your first link. For most businesses that is a way to message you, then your location, then your prices or menu.
The usual first three
- A way to reach you, usually a chat button
- Where you are, as a map link
- What you offer, as a menu, price list or catalogue
Add opening hours so people know when you are open, and a booking or order link if you take them.
What to cut
- Social profiles that you do not post on
- Two links that go to nearly the same place
- Anything you added because it felt incomplete without it
Order matters more than count
The first two links get most of the taps. Put the thing you most want people to do at the top, not the thing you are proudest of.
Review it every few months
Businesses change. A link that mattered in spring may be dead weight by autumn.
