How to collect reviews without nagging customers

Ask once, right after the thing went well, and make it a single tap. Most review requests fail because they arrive too late and ask for too much work.
The moment that works
Immediately after the good part. When they collect the order, when the job is finished, when they say thank you. A day later the feeling has gone and so has the review.
Make it one tap
A link straight to the review page, from something they already have open. If someone has to search for your business, find the right listing and then scroll to the button, most of them stop.
What to say
Short and specific:
If you have a minute, a quick review really helps us. It takes about thirty seconds.
Do not apologise, do not explain at length, and do not offer anything in exchange.
Where to put the ask
- A line on the receipt
- A code on the packaging
- Your reply after they say thanks
- A button on your page, for people who came back on their own
Never ask twice
One ask is a favour. Two is pressure, and it costs you the relationship for something you were not owed anyway.
